Excalibur’s Road Warriors: Making One Flavorful Connection at a Time

With ten trade shows down and one more to go, the Excalibur sales team is nearing the finish line of this year’s trade show and convention circuit.
The kickoff for the season began at the Illinois Association of Meat Processors’ 50th Anniversary Convention in Effingham.
“Many Excalibur Seasoning customers won product show awards – some multiple times,” said Scott Werner, sales consultant who attended IAMP. “Of the entries, one of our customers won for pepper bacon and received the top producer honor with fifteen awards. Some of our other partners were recognized for their innovative beef and pork entries, and hot dogs.”
From February through May, the sales team traveled to Illinois, California, Missouri, and Michigan, then to Indiana and Kentucky, the Annual Meat Conference, Wisconsin, Montana, and Pennsylvania. Preparing for these events is quite an undertaking where sales team members work early and late before the trade show, in addition to long hours on the convention floor. The reward of customer connections outweighs the effort.
“The quality and flavor profiles of our products continue to earn high praise from our customers,” said Sales Consultant Kip Padgelek, who attended the Pennsylvania Association of Meat Processors Convention. “Leading the show this year were two fan favorites: Loaded Liberty Sausage Seasoning and Philly Cheese Steak Bratwurst Seasoning.”
Excalibur will end the season at the American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) Convention– an event the team starts planning at least ten months before the date. In the weeks leading up to AAMP, it’s been a whirlwind of promotion, booth design and layout, and tasting a variety of seasonings to decide what samples will make the show menu.
“More than a dozen flavors will headline AAMP this year, including Hot Honey Beer, General Tso and Al Pastor,” said John Brewer, VP of Sales & Marketing. “This annual event is always a big reunion for us as we reconnect with customers and their families. We have great admiration and respect for these processors. They may be challenged with obstacles at times, but they are resilient and continue to find ways to grow.”
