Cotilla & Hall Bring Expertise, Passion to Sales Team

John Cotilla and Trevor Hall both bring unique experience, deep industry passion, and a shared focus on helping customers grow with the Excalibur team.

John Cotilla is our Sales & Marketing Consultant with more than 20 years of experience in value-added meat and seafood programs. His background includes grocery retail, product development, and even co-owning a marinade company importing products from Germany. Having spent much of his career on the customer side (and even competing against Excalibur), John was drawn to the company’s reputation and focus.

“I wanted to stay in the industry I love, and Excalibur has a great brand,” he said. “We all have the same passion for value-added products and programs.”

At recent trade shows, John saw that same passion reflected across the industry. He highlighted the success of Excalibur’s Proper Portions™ line.

“I want to grow product lines by giving value-added solutions to everyday hurdles facing our customers and continue bringing innovation to a constantly changing market.”

Trevor Hall, Sales Consultant for Southwest Wisconsin, has a background in education, small business ownership, and food safety/quality assurance. He has a professional and personal connection to Excalibur.

“I’ve been using Excalibur products at home for 20 years,” Trevor shared. “I have my smoker going every weekend, if not every other weekend, with pulled pork and ribs. I’ve always enjoyed sausage-making, so each year I make about one hundred pounds of hot dogs, snack sticks, and bratwurst every year for family and friends.

“People I know in the industry use Excalibur exclusively because of the quality and reputation in the market.”

Trevor says what stands out most about his new role is the customer connection.

“I wake up every morning realizing that these customers are my boss. What can I do to earn their trust and help them be more successful? That’s what motivates me.”

At trade shows, Trevor observed strong excitement around value-added offerings, especially as processors look for ways to navigate rising costs. “They’re looking for ways to keep customers coming through the door and distinguishing themselves from big box stores,” he said. “When they can offer something unique and cost-effective, they love that idea.”

Together, John and Trevor represent the experience, energy, and customer-first mindset that define Excalibur’s sales team. We’re proud to have them on board and how they’ll help our customers succeed.
