A New Addition to the Excalibur Sales & Marketing Team

Welcome, Scott Weber, the newest sales and marketing consultant to join Excalibur Seasoning.

Scott has a long history in the meat retail business dating back to the early 1990s, even diversifying his career along the way on the meat processing side.

Growing up in the business, I always had great interest in getting back to the meat industry,” Scott recalls. “When I had a chance to join my cousin and run a meat market, I was excited for the opportunity.”

Since 1997, Scott has been a co-owner and entrepreneur of Weber Meats in Geneseo, Illinois, and Bettendorf, Iowa, and a meat manager at Jeff’s Market in Durant, Iowa, for a combined 30 years of industry experience – a background that is beneficial to his new career with Excalibur.

“I understand how the meat industry works, what proteins pair with the variety of seasonings in the marketplace, and the effects of finished products, so I have a keen sense of what it takes to sell Excalibur seasonings,” Scott says. “The last fourteen years in a grocery store provided a unique opportunity to promote over the counter purchases. I know how our clients can and should use the blends to further increase their sales.”

Scott says his connection to Excalibur dates back many years. The company and its founder are a part of his family history.

“I grew up watching my dad cure hams and bacon, making sausage using F.W. Witt & Co., products and then switching over to Excalibur Seasoning when Jerry Hall started the business. I remember going to trade shows and Jerry would always take time to talk to me about seasonings. I have always wanted to work for the company. Not only do they have a tremendous reputation for great products, but they know how to treat their customers.”

Scott’s territory for Excalibur covers several states in the southeast region and Michigan.

“I get to know my customers on a first name basis, and understand their business and needs. I’ll work alongside them to help with any questions or issues they may have to help improve their sales.”

While Scott enjoys many of Excalibur’s products, these are his top three go-to blends:

  • Natural Bratwurst Seasoning
  • Sweet and Sassy Garlic Pepper
  • Sweet and Sassy Rump Rub

Be sure to compare notes on Scott’s favorites and the latest flavors from Excalibur the next time you catch up with him on the road, or at one of the many convention and trade shows in the coming year.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with Excalibur Seasoning and look forward to what the future holds.”
