Excalibur in the community…

As a local business, we’re proud to foster community spirit because we love working and playing here.

This year’s Pekin Rotary Golf Classic on May 19 brought out more than 70 of the area’s top golfers at Sunset Hills Golf Course. Excalibur sent their finest duffers to compete: Board Members Lloyd Orrick and Mike Shrier, CFO Tom Shrier, and Doug Orrick. Congratulations to our team for earning a respectable third place finish. Money raised benefits the Mobile Diner in Pekin.

Jay Hall, Excalibur’s president of R&D, is the co-chair of the annual Ambucs Auction, a major fundraiser for the local business club in Pekin.  The auction raised $32,000 this year, and $8,000 of that will fund the AmTrykes Bike Program. AmTrykes are special bikes that the organization builds to improve the mobility and independence of children with disabilities. So far, Ambucs has given away six Trykes in 2018 with plans to build four more for future presentations. Ambucs also supports other not-for-profits such as the Boys and Girls Club, Shade Memorial Park, YWCA, Tomorrow’s Hope Christian Academy, and The Hope Chest.

The St. Jude Hospital Telethon, which organizes the St. Jude Run from Memphis to Peoria, Illinois, has involved Excalibur’s President & CEO Tom Hornstein and Jerry Hall, the company’s late founder, as longtime VIP fundraisers. This year, the event brought in more than $10,000,000. Tom Hornstein was in the top 3 VIP fundraisers with $6,800. Congratulations!

Excalibur is proud to support and sponsor annual golf outings and summer baseball through Boys & Girls Club of Pekin and the Pekin Union Mission Baseball Leagues. Every year you’ll likely catch our company name on team signs and player t-shirts.
