AAMP 2022 offers sneak peek at our new fall flavors

The American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) Convention is back in Des Moines, Iowa, July 14 – 16, 2022.

As Excalibur’s Vice-President of Sales & Marketing John Brewer sees it, the city is a special location for this annual event.

“AAMP in Des Moines is always the best-attended event because of its central location,” says Brewer. “We expect a banner year for the show and Excalibur, with our entire sales staff and our President Mike Shrier in attendance.”

“This event centers around our fall promotions,” adds Bob Andorfer, Excalibur’s National Sales Director. “Our customers get the opportunity to test our new flavors and identify which blends they want to fill their meat cases come October.”

The sales team is targeting newly created dry rubs, marinades, patty blends and fresh and smoked sausages as featured products at this year’s event.

“I’m really excited for our AAMP lineup this year,” says Brewer. “For fresh sausage blends, I expect our Yellow Thai Curry to be a hit for those looking for something a bit more exotic. I also think our Loaded Bacon Cheeseburger will be a real winner with the smoked sausage crowd. And honestly, our Bavarian Oktoberfest patty blend is really the perfect choice for a fall flavor. There’s really going to be something for everyone this year.”

Be sure to contact a member of the Excalibur sales team and carve out some time to “meat up” at the Excalibur booth. It’s a great way to try our new royal flavors.

Also, in the AAMP spotlight in July? The American Cured Meat Championships (ACMC).

“The Midwest shows are a great experience for competitors,” says Andorfer. “Anyone who is a processor member of AAMP, makes their own products, and is registered with the convention, can participate. Some of our customers and even members of our sales team – Andy Pearson, Rick McLimans and I – have won awards over the years. This competition is a big deal. We can’t wait to see who comes home a winner this season.”
